What We Do

About Us

Improving the Quality of Life from Those who Suffer from PCS

Head Injury Treatment Corp (H.I.T.) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization seeking to help open the doors to an improved quality of life for those who suffer from Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS), and increase awareness about the “invisible injury.” Through your generous donations and support, we can provide the help needed to bring these victims out of a dark path and onto the road to an improved quality of life. The funds raised will provide those who are experiencing the aftereffects of concussions with all of the necessary treatment at a top choice facility dedicated to head trauma and brain injury recovery.

Our Mission

To open the doors to an improved quality of life for those who suffer from Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) and increase awareness about the “invisible injury.”

Headshot of Bill Dorton

Bill Dorton

At the forefront of H.I.T. is Bill Dorton, Director of Group Exercise at PurLife Fitness Center, locations in Delray Beach and Boca Raton, and a native of Ohio where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Akron. A successful sports career in football and track sustained him with multiple head injuries in his youth, preventing him from continuing to play football in college. Dorton has spent years in the dark, suffering from the pain of this “invisible injury” and has experienced firsthand how much it can control a person’s life. Now, after finally finding himself on the fortunate path to recovery due to a group of doctors who took the time to treat the actual injury and not just focus on the surface symptoms, Dorton is dedicated to helping as many others as he can to return to a quality life of normalcy. Through H.I.T., he has high hopes to steer people off that deep, dark path that so many suffer from and help them find the road to recovery the way he has.

Brad Chatman

A native of Marquette, Michigan, Brad grew up in a world where sports were the main attraction, especially football and hockey, two of the biggest contact sports around. Brad has brought his love of sports along with him to South Florida, where he is now Regional Director of PurLife Fitness Center, locations in Delray Beach and Boca Raton. He has also brought along with him the memories of his past experiences dealing with multiple concussions during his career as a hockey player. Due to these unexpected injuries, his career was short-lived and has caused him to take an active role in the research and support of helping those who have suffered from head injuries — just like he did. As a co-founder of H.I.T., Brad is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others who have been affected by concussions by helping them to receive the medical attention and treatment they need in order to return to the quality of life they knew pre-injury.

Jarrett Solimando

Jarrett is an avid sports player with a background including baseball and basketball at Northern Valley Demarest High School in Haworth, NJ and college football at Bryant University. He currently works in the Defense and Aerospace Industry in materials management and logistics for GEI Industries in Boca Raton. With so much involvement in sports throughout his life, it is no surprise that Jarrett has experienced concussions and head trauma first hand. Not only has he dealt with the after effects himself, but he has also seen his friends struggle through the same situations. Jarrett stresses the importance in realizing that concussions are a silent issue, meaning that many who suffer from them are unable to make sense of the issues they are experiencing or be diagnosed, causing a downward spiral in quality of life in those affected. Co-founding H.I.T. allows Jarrett to do his part to contribute to the early diagnosis of these issues, and help individuals get the medical attention and treatment needed to improve quality of life.
